Cake It To Heaven
The most recent product churned out by Skmatic was a Drupal site for Las Vegas-based cake designer Raquel Acosta-Armandi. The site was built using Drupal 6 and features a colorbox photo gallery and a cake ordering page that uses the webform module. It also makes extensive use of jQuery (slideshow on homepage and auto-resizing background image) — Some graphic design work was outsourced for this project. Visit Cake It To Heaven for a test-drive!
OTR Global (subscription site)
Designed and built the front-end for the subscription-based, investment research portion of the OTR Global website (paid subscription required) while employed as Webmaster at OTR Global LLC. Wrote all the html and css by hand and created all the images (aside from the corporate logo). Also employed jQuery for modal dialog notifications and UI animations. Click the screenshot to the right to see a sample of my work on this project — the live site is unavailable to non-OTR Global clients.
OTR Global Splash Page
Created a splash page for OTR Global's Portal/Intranet application, which is used internally by reporters to generate investment research reports for clients. This page serves as the starting point for all OTR Global employees and allows them to access all essential web resources from a single location. The page features a clean, legible interface, allowing employees to quickly find the tools they need. It also uses a "tableless" css layout and employs css "sprite" rollovers for the buttons.
Icons
During my employment at OTR Global, I created a number of icons for websites and emails that were used to convey (sometimes abstract) messages at a glance. Here is a small set of icons that I created for the "About Us" page of the OTR Global subscription website. These vector icons were designed to represent concepts such as, "research methodology", "investigative journalism" and "global reach". They were created using Adobe Fireworks & Adobe Illustrator.
